Frequently Asked Questions:
-
Please use the contact forms on this website. I do ask for some brief details of the reasons you want therapy as this helps to see if I offer what you are looking for. Then we arrange a free initial enquiry call to check if we are a good fit to work together.
-
I can usually offer you an appointment within 2 weeks, sometimes less. I aim to get back to any enquiries within 48 hours during my working days (Monday-Thursday). If I am full you can join a waiting list after an initial call but that is not currently the case.
-
I am happy to answer queries by email, just use the contact form supplied. I offer a free no obligation informal phone/video call of up to 20 minutes where you can also ask questions.
-
My fees are £50 per 60 minutes. Longer or shorter sessions are charged pro rata. I am not currently able to offer concessions.
-
Payment is by BACS transfer within 24 hours of your appointment.
-
Yes if you are willing to do this in advance. I don’t take block payments in arrears.
-
I offer appointments Monday-Thursday 10am til 8pm with a gap 1.30-4.30. What is available varies and evening appointments are more popular.

Therapy is a unique process and people vary greatly in how many sessions need. This is up to you and we will discuss this. In my experience some people see a lot of improvement in just a few sessions. I work on the basis that you know yourself best and when you have received the support you need it will be clear to us both. I do also work long-term (1+ years) if that is what you are looking for.
-
You can choose. I can offer regular weekly or fortnightly sessions, ad hoc sessions and one-off appointments (this can suit shift workers and those who want appointments less often). Most people benefit from more regular sessions. If cost is an issue spacing sessions out further can make it more affordable, however you may see less benefits or it may take longer than having regular sessions.
-
You can cancel or reschedule at any point by letting me know by email or text. I will respond as soon as I can during working hours. If you cancel or reschedule with more than 24 hours notice there is no charge, less than 24 hours and I charge the full rate.
-
I will message you after 5 minutes if you don’t attend your appointment. If I don’t hear anything after 15 minutes I will close the meeting. If you get in touch after that, it may be possible to have the remaining session time, but I can’t guarantee that. Missed appointments are charged in full.
If you miss a lot of appointments, I will talk to you to see if we can put anything in place to help.

Counselling is not always a linear process and many people stop and start counselling depending on their life circumstances. I am happy to receive enquiries from previous clients. If I am busy I may not be able to see you immediately but I will do my best.
-
If you feel able you are invited to raise any issues with me directly but I realise this is not always possible. I am a member of the NCPS and I follow their ethical framework and they have information and complaints procedures for clients here

I take your privacy and the security of your data very seriously. I keep contact details and brief notes of appointments. This and any other communications with me such as email are treated confidentially. I also have a privacy policy. I follow GDPR and I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office.
I do not knowingly use AI ‘artificial intelligence’ tools to handle your data (some are inbuilt and hard to avoid but I do my best).
If you receive therapy from me you will receive more details of all of this in my contract.
-
Generally no. Recordings contain a lot of sensitive personal and professional data and could be used in a variety of ways and I believe the risks outweigh the benefits except in very unusual circumstances.
-
I welcome everyone, so long as we feel we are a good fit to work together. Prior to coming out and specialising I worked with many people from different walks of life. If you think you would like to work with me, based on what I have shared here then I would love to hear from you.

Yes, I am not very experienced in working with this community but I do not hold negative views towards sex work or sex workers.
